Since 1964 the Fiat Car Clubs around Australia have held a national competition and social event to celebrate the Fiat marque.
This provides an opportunity for like-minded people to get together and enjoy their cars and test their vehicles in a controlled environment.  Originally the event was between New South Wales and Victoria - the oldest Australian Fiat clubs.  For many of years, the event was actively supported by Fiat Italy, the Australian distributor and dealers of the time.  Fiat Italy actually provided a Trophy for the event that came from European racing of the 20's.

We call the trophy the Fiat of Italy Cup and it is the major team trophy we compete for over the weekend.

As the event grew, and other states became involved, the location moved further north to make travel more equal for event participants.  Over the years this has seen events having been held in Wagga, Orange and Forbes, with the majority in Dubbo.

In 2005 a major review and expansion of the event was agreed to by the event's organising committee, which is comprised of state and territory representatives from all of the Fiat Clubs of Australia.  The location for the Fiat Nationals was changed to Bathurst and the event expanded to include a Hillclimb at what is the most famous motorsport location in Australia - Mount Panorama, Bathurst. The event became known as the "Fiat al Monte", meaning  'Fiat at the mountain'.

This event has grown to now be a full weekend festival of social and competitive events. The event attracts, Fiat owners from five states and territories, prospective Fiat owners, Fiat friends, and other motorsport devotees from around Australia.

In 2009 the event moved to Goulburn NSW, and returned to its true name, the "Fiat Nationals". This move offered competitors a new set of challenges & establishished Goulburn as the new home of the Fiat Nationals.

The weekend starts with an informal social gathering on the Friday night, where interstate friends and competitors can catch-up and discuss old times, new times & what things have been changed with their cars in the last twelve months.

Saturday morning will see the traditional National Fiat Motorkhana for the Fiat of Italy Cup, where we expect at least 50 Fiat competitors in teams representing their state or territory undertaking six tests, which is a fiercely fought and most desired event for both driver and state.

This will be followed by a Concorso (show & shine) in Goulbourn. A large display of historic, modern & competition vehicles will be a feast for the eyes of all car lovers.

Our legendary social BBQ will finish up the days adventures.

On the Sunday we will hold a speed event, our supersprint around Wakefield Park Raceway. For this event, we allow brands of cars other than Fiat to compete to build up the numbers and help defray the costs of running the event. These cars, however, do not qualify for the Fiat National trophy or the team events. This event is a fantastic opportunity for the public to see and hear the legendary roar of Fiat's rich history.

At the Sunday night Presentation Dinner we all get together to celebrate and award trophies to the individual winners and the winning state team.
